I have a five year old. I work. Whatever sleeping schedule he is on, is not working. I am late to work and exhausted in the morning.

I need a little guidance.

Meg

I also have a 5-year old and let me say ensuring he sleeps through the night is almost an impossible task. I try not to let him have any caffeine or sugar and I make sure that sometime in the late afternoon he has time to run around either in the yard or park so that come bedtime he's exhausted. With little kids, pure exhaustion is the only way they (and as a result you) will get some sleep.

With my daughter (2 year old), putting some music on while she falls asleep helps put her down. If she wakes up, I just replay the cd and she's out again.

Try it.

Meg I have a 6 year old girl who will not sleep in her room. I have to get in her bed with her til she falls asleep then I get in my bed. But then around 1 or 2am she'll come in my room. I get up and go back in her bed with her til she falls asleep again. Then I go back in my bed then about an hour or 2 later here she comes again. I call it for me BED HOPPING all night this goes. Once in a blue blue she'll sleep the whole night through but there far n few between. I don't know what to do. I have a husband but he just sleeps through it all he's no help at all. Do you have any advise I'm desprite at this point. I'll try anything.

I have 2 kiddos, a 5 year old, who has always slept very well for me and my 3 year old who cant seem to get to sleep and stay that way. He ends up in my bed most nights. We had gotten him to stay in his bed for about a month, then he started coming back into my room.

I am not sure what to do. I have had him on a bedtime schedule since I can remember.

Your not alone.
